2013 – ITALY

Spanish Premire. Friday 30 November. 7pm.

Q&A with Simona Confalonieri, director of the documentary.

TITLE: Intorno a Marisa
DIRECTED BY: Simona Confalonieri

RUN TIME: 26 min

Intorno a Marisa highlights the domestic component and the ways in which creativity and life have merged in the work of the Italian artist Marisa Merz, the only major female protagonist of the Arte Povera movement. Held in a major exhibition at the Serpentine Gallery in London in 2013, in the same year the artist received the Golden Lion award for her career at the 55th Venice Biennale. The artist never wanted to be filmed and this documentary, produced by RAI, the Italian pubic television, was the only exception.

Simona Confalonieri, director and scriptwriter, founded Videografia Italiana, a small creative film production company that creates films focusing on art, architecture, design and tourism. She collaborates with the University of Pavia and the University of Turin.
